ANAUT was born in 2013 in Amsterdam (Netherlands) while Alberto Anaut was studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. That year they released their first album, “140”, funded through crowdfunding — its title refers to the number of people who made it possible.
Joined by seven other musicians from Amsterdam, Palermo, Pamplona, Barcelona and Toledo, the band presented the album at Sala Caracol in Madrid to a sold-out crowd. They toured Spain over the following two years.
Before their second album, they put out a seven-inch single featuring their most popular track, “WHEN YOUR DAYS GROW LONG”, which has gathered almost two million streams. The B-side is a cover of “Black is Black”, made famous in Spain by Los Bravos.
Their second LP, “TIME GOES ON” (2016), premiered at Sala Joy Eslava in Madrid — another sold-out night.
“Time Goes On” went on to win the following awards:
They took part in the GIRANDO POR SALAS program, with an extensive tour lasting the next two years. The LP features guest artists such as harmonica player Antonio Serrano and New Orleans-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Jon Cleary.
Their third LP, titled “HELLO THERE”, arrived in 2018. It premiered at Teatro Barceló in Madrid, and the Spanish tour stretched over the following three years. The band was selected for AIE’s ARTISTAS EN RUTA program.
Across those albums (140, Time Goes On and Hello There), ANAUT explores the connection between Soul, Americana and Pop.
In May 2025 their fourth LP, “PERRO VERDE”, was released, opening the band’s Spanish-language era — closer to Rock and Pop.
